Snowy

The many walks he made me take him on just to check out a new smell in the neighbourhood,
the Diwali nights I would spend comforting him when the sound of crackers scared him out of his life,
the times I fed him with my hands because the lunch didnt look interesting enough to be tasted,
the umpteen times he got into trouble while chasing a cat, dog, bird or cow and I had to bring him back home,
the sound of his bark as he welcomed me home after school or after some months at college,
the sound of his chain hitting the bowl as he gulped down his favourite meal,
the times he would jump on the sofa when no one is looking,
the times I would make him listen to my teenage woes because I didnt have friends who cared,
the times he would ignore me because I was bothering him too much,
the breezy summer days when he would sit on the lawn and taste the air with his tongue,
the look on his face and the spring in his leap when you tempt him with a rasagulla,
the times he would flip and look at you as if to say "love me",
and all the other times when he would just be around,
those were the good times, the warm "snowy" times of my life :)

Its been a year since he died, and not a day passes without remembering him. More than a companion and a friend, he was like a child to me, a naughty kid who knew that he could get his way with his doting mom (:D) I am sure pet lovers will know what I mean. Miss you snowy

I know.....even I used to have dogs...and they were the best people I have ever met!!Two of them are dead now, and I know how it feels. But still, all dogs go to heaven. You know that, right?(I think they even made a movie by that name :P ) So don't be sad....he's probably chasing his favourite cat right now(mine used to chase squirrels) :)

Never read something like this... its beautiful. And you have actually captured the 'times';so its justifiable to write "those 'are' the good times" of your life :) .

ya i can understand hw it feel.i also had a dog named ruby and she died 2 and half yrs ago.i still remember when i saw her last time,i was leaving from home after my dushahara vacation lasts.she was jumping on me as she does always when i play with her.when i was leaving she was sitting at her place and and starring at me and i said byee to her and she doesnt move at all.after 2 months i heard tht she had some problem and within 16 hrs she died.she was a very smart dog,now also when i think abt her i have come wth tears.
